AT&T Treasury’s “Habitat for Humanity”
Members of AT&T Treasury coming together to lending helping hands.
Opportunity: a young couple purchased a fixer-upper home as they began their new life together. It wasn’t too long before they added a wonderful new addition, a son. When the husband/dad was just 31 years old, he suddenly passed away, leaving his young family alone with many home projects started, and non-completed. Feeling overwhelmed, the widow reached out to a community member, who happened to be part of the Treasury Organization.
Solution: upon learning of this great need, we pulled together a team of co-workers, to finish not only the started projects, but all the work which was required, both inside and out. Our goal was to assist the homeowner in preparing the house for sale, so she could move closer to family, for their support. Success was quickly achieved.
Caveat: this was not an official Habitat for Humanity project, as their work is for families moving into homes, not to preparing them for sale. This did not stop us from using their process and reaching out to local and national businesses for product discounts and extra supplies. We were extremely well-supported by the community at large.
